STELLA FLUORESCENT
is a San Francisco based design studio co-founded by Tiersa Nureyev and Erik Hilburn. The studio's focus is on making fashion forward, thoughtful objects that take the form of accessories, jewelry, and textiles.
Our materials-driven process starts first with curiosity, a desire to innovate, and a myriad of questions.
Statement Stella Fluorescent from collections past.
Baby Stella.
A STAR, LIT FROM WITHIN
Stella Fluorescent was founded by Tiersa and Erik and named after the bright star that is their daughter Stella. What more encapsulates the spirit of creation than having a child? The feeling of boundless potential, a spirited resonance, a muse that symbolizes empowerment, amplified energy, a sense of glowing magic. From this source of inspiration they have been moved to create objects with that same energy via sustainable practices. Adornments meant also to bring pleasure, beauty, delight.
Tiersa Nureyev, CO-FOUNDER & DESIGNER
Tiersa Nureyev
Tiersa is the head creative director, designer, and maker for Stella Fluorescent. Her approach is multidisciplinary, materials driven and hands on. This methodology is realized in each Stella Fluorescent collection and also evident in her larger body of work. Tiersa has costumed for film, musical theatre and dance, and worked alongside fellow artists to create fiber-based structures and garments for gallery projects and set design.
Tiersa is also a teaching artist with a strong belief that art is a right and that making is an integral part of the human experience. This conviction touches all aspects of her work; as an Artist In Residence within the San Francisco Unified School District, to an instructor of summer workshops with youth that probe deeply into the nature of fashion as identity, to a collaborative partnership with artists currently residing in San Quentin Prison.
Adornments for both statement making and quiet repose.
